FIELD SURVEY/SITE CHECK
Field Survey/Site Check #3: December 11, 2015
Images and Videos captured from 11/1/15 - 12/11/15
Images and Videos captured from 11/1/15 - 12/11/15
FIELD SITE #1: RIPARIAN FOREST AREA
TRAIL CAMERA 1:
Unfortunately, we ran into some tech issues at Field Site #1. When we first checked on our trail camera, we found that it had captured only 26 images during this last round. However, once back in the classroom, we discovered that our SD card was unreadable... So, we can only guess what 'neighbors' our camera caught during this last survey period!
Luckily, a new SD card is now in place and, hopefully, our trail camera #1 is back in action and will have captured many more images by the time our next field survey rolls around... So, stay tuned! |
FIELD SITE #2: UPLAND FOREST AREA
TRAIL CAMERA 2
Snowshoe Hare Visitors (Lepus americanus):
Canine Visitors (Canis lupus familiaris):
Porcupine Visitors (Erethizon dorsaum)
Red Squirrel Visitors (Tamiasciurus hudsonicus):
Feline Visitor (Felis catus) ?
FIELD SITE #3: MUSKEG/MEADOW
TRAIL CAMERA 3
Our trail camera captured 64 images at our Muskeg/Meadow field site this time around! Once again, most images seemed to have been taken on very windy days, when the surrounding plants were quite active! Key visitors a few canine visitors, our avian neighbors, and quite possibly a couple of Sitka Black-tailed deer (whose presence was only revealed by their eyeshine). We also had several unknown triggers, mostly in the daytime. Here are a few highlights:
